Hi Everybody

Lily wanted to say Hi... especially to cousin Analiese for lending out this outfit that she managed to slobber all over! Ahhh the life of a baby... PS - I've figured out how to fix the pictures that go sideways -but not the video? At least it has sound :o)

As if a pain the the knee isn't enough...

I got a root canal for my birthday. How cool is that?? NOT cool at all. Better yet (I guess... just ironic) I didn't even have a cavity - just an infected root and boy WAS it infected - it was quite potent to smell when he opened it! GROSS!!!! I just noticed I keep typing "route" canal... :o) I guess he was making a route up my root, right?
Anywho...
Lily loves her bumbo, can't you tell? (Thanks auntie Alli and Cheryl)
Seriously though - I think these are great! She's still a little small for hers... but I still wanted to try. BAD mommy...

I know I know, I'm falling behind...

Well, you've got one thing right! I'm FALLING... and that I did - about 2 weeks ago when we went out for a nice little afternoon of skiing! It was beautiful, we were staring at Mt McKinley and the water the whole way down - and the view must have captured my attention and therefore I didn't see that big ice ball - when bam... I hit it and hit the ground... and it appears that I have torn my ACL among other things in there -- surgery is pending sometimes in the new few weeks... SIGH... so prayers are absolutely welcomed!!! It's a lot to handle right now ----- so let's just look on the brighter side of things... Lily is just TOOOOOOOOOO cute! Here's a little slideshow of the past few weeks! Josh turned 29 (whew??), Melissa came to visit (which was GLORIOUS... so nice to have such a great friend here and so much help with Lily... we miss her...), Lily turned 2 months and got her first round of shots (small tear rolling down my cheek here...) She now weighs:
DRUM ROLL PLEASE........... a whopping
10lbs 1 oz (I know, she's a little tike... but she's growing!)
21.1 inche slong
She was 7lbs 1oz at birth and then lost about half a pound or so and 20 inches long. She's amidst the 25th-50th percentiles... and the doctor the jokingly said - "Looking at you two, I wouldn't expect her to be the tallest kid on the block" No kidding :o) MAybe she'll take after uncle Scott??
These are just a few silly pictures - I also got my hair chopped!! Enjoy

Cheese

All giggles and grins when you talk to her in just the right voice (mainly Momma's voice... but still) Also, she's VERY excited to look at anything that has lights! She's got a new bouncy seat and crib aquarium thanks to many gracious gifts you folks have sent us and she just looooooooves to stare at the lights and sounds! I'll try and get a picture or video of that up soon...
Lily loves her bath time too! Here's Daddy taking care of that for us
And finally, Lily and I have been introduced to the world of "baby wearing." It's kinda a hippy thing that's turned into a trendy thing - but it provides Momma 2 hands when she needs them during the day! Here we are just before going to my work's holiday party (they clearly had it post-holidays to make things easier for folks)

Grandma and Grandpa Pernell are here!

Yes, mom and dad Pernell finally got here! So for all of you anxious people that keep asking for pictures of Grandma and Grampa... here you go! We've managed to get out and about a few times and they've been quite lucky!!! They were able to have a beautiful clear day and even got a peak at Mt McKinley!! I think that the weather has been a lot clearer for this set of granparents?! Sorry Grandma and Grandpa Elston... however, it has been colder! Down in the single digits most days and even in the negatives overnight?! Yikes.... and they've gotten to see not 1, but 2 moose as well??!!! One when we were all walking to the overlook and another out wandering the streets!!! Enjoy the pictures with my nice new camera that Santa brought - ohhh la la... we're still learning how to use it for sure though???!!!
Who said we don't have any sun in Alaska?? Here's the sun setting along Turnagain Arm amidst the icy waters and mountains! Yes, most people don't realize we live right in between the mountains AND the ocean!!

Here's another spot along the same drive where there's a build-up of ice on the mountain side... a popular place for ice climbers!!

Lily has enjoyed our adventures... but I think they've pooped her out :o)

Ho Ho Ho, MERRY Christmas :o)

Grandma and Grandpa Elston were here to celebrate a VERY white Christmas with us here in the Great White North! We enjoyed there time with us here so much?! They were able to enjoy some great meals (and cook us some great meals?!)... and I might mention TREAT us to some great meals *thanks*.... bundle up to go outside instead of breaking out your tank tops on Christmas in Houston, and even go sledding!
(this was pre-sledding practice) How fun is that? :o) Lily and I were able to tag along for most of the meals :o) But we opted out on the sledding... soon enough we'll be joining them though!
